Thailand's Chawalit Plaphol has held off a late charge from Sri Lankan Mithun Perera to take out the 2013 Myanmar Open on Sunday, while Australia's Darren Beck finished in a share of fourth.
Plaphol headed into the final round on top of the leaderboard and he ensured he'd remain there at the end of 72 holes courtesy of his three-under 69 which gave him an overall score of 18 under.
But Perera, who began the day in equal 13th, came from the clouds to almost force a playoff with a scintillating seven-under final round of 65 boosting him to second spot (17 under).
Plaphol's countryman Kiradech Aphibarnrat (16 under) finished third while Beck (15 under) was part of a group of three to finish the tournament in a share of fourth spot along with South Korean In-choon Hwang and Filipino Angelo Que.
Tim Stewart (11 under) was the next best Australian in equal 19th, while David Lutterus and Marcus Both ended the tournament in a share of 39th position on seven under.
Scott Hend (five under) and Unho Park (three over) were the other Australians in the field.
